Who I am

>> Tuesday, January 3

I am a Poem

Tempered and true

You are my words

When I think of you

I am a Poem

Fluid and Frost

Dreams to be dreamt of

Lostest when lost.

I am a Poem

Screaming and hushed

Speaking too loudly

Silent when crushed

I am a Poem

Flying and free

Sings to be sung to

All is of me

I am a Poem

The round in the rings

The smile in your photos

The M in most things

I am a Poem

Erato and Blame

Facade to your faces

…This be my name

I asked

>> Thursday, June 2

I asked the Lord for love today

I came across just that

Yet recklessly I questioned and

Groused loud of what I lacked.

I asked the Lord for guidance then

Boundlessly He gave

Yet ceaseless as His blessings were,

I constantly complained.

I asked the Lord for happiness

I was awed by what I found…

Despite my being discontent

His wonders were abound

I asked myself

What’s wrong with me?

Dear Lord, what should I do?

He said to fill the chasm, child,

Learn to give enough of you.

wond'rin' what to do
I feel like the smallest,

Special effects for your photos!

>> Wednesday, March 3

There's always something fun to discover online. Today, I tried out a site that can transform plain photos into funny, effects-packed images that are so amusing, I guarantee you'd share the info with your friends once you're done reading this bit. The service is called Picjoke.

The first thing I noticed was that the site had no "About Picjoke" information. I may be wrong but this is probably because the site's only purpose is to add effects to its users' chosen pictures. The welcoming page features a host of images that show a lady's portrait done in different cool effects.

Once you decide on your image, it takes less than one minute to enjoy what I am quick to call the fruits of creative labor. When there, simply choose the effect that appeals to you, then upload an image onto your chosen effect, and you're done! Your special effects photo becomes available for viewing (and saving!) in less than 60 short seconds.

Another great thing about it is they come up with new photo effects every day. I thought I'd spend just around fifteen minutes checking the site out but it's been well over an hour and I'm still uploading my friends' photos on funny effects. This hot and humid day's master plan is to email blast the buddies with a surprise dose of happy. Now, having fun with my photos has turned so effortless and entertaining. Glad I got the chance to try the service out :-)
Here are what I've come up with: (model: facaderato's muse #1)

funny photo editing online can be so much fun! It doesn't hurt that it's fast too :)

Picjoke's picture effects include faces of top Hollywood celebrities, adding "umph" to otherwise "blah" portraits :)

Have fun with photos any which way you want...looks like Angelina and Johnny wouldn't mind.

Printer For My Prints

>> Monday, January 18

It's the first month of the new year, usually an exciting time for serial shoppers (I appreciate the shopping experience now more than I did in December!). True retail therapy is when you don't have to think of a gift list involving people other than yourself(!) ...January, for me, spells markdowns, sales and special promos scattered all over the malls and my favorite shops online. It's when I spend (significant) time surfing the web for rare and irresistible deals.

Topping my list of must finds this month is a supplier for print material to support my photography needs. As always, high quality, discount printing is the way to go. I mentioned PSPrint before and I gotta say -- with their current (& very tempting!) marketing endeavors, they still remain one of my favorite online shops to check out for pro printing requirements. I took a look at their site today and they're printing rates are ridiculously low this whole month!

The reason I'm yapping about printers yet again is, this year, my to-do list includes having posters created for my photographs. I'd like to give family and friends framed portraits as gifts throughout twenty-ten. Not trying to start a fad, just going for some form of originality ;) There's also the yummy idea of having a desk calendar created featuring Erato's monthly highlighted images. The prospects are endless, most especially since my ideal online supplier keeps coming up with spectacular printing deals. :D

Oh & another project I have in mind is to finally put together my wedding images. Not necessarily in album form... I was thinking of organizing the photos in booklet format, to add an unexpected yet interesting read to my coffee table book selection... how's that for a "unique" anniversary present for my beloved bitter half, ya? heheh

Keep your curse from cupid© flowing, artists!

Your Photos on Postcards!

I'm plenty interested in this next bit: transforming any of my very own photos into postcards (or greeting cards, even) in time for spreading the season's holiday greetings! I've been dabbling in photography for a short while now and I got excited with the idea of sending out cards featuring some favorite pictures to family and friends. (sample image for a post card below):

While it's true that there are a lot of local traditional printers near my area, most of them will charge an arm and a leg to produce custom greeting and postcards for small-project clients as myself. So I decided to add "umph" to my personal supplier listing by looking for cost efficient yet professional printers who can partner with me throughout various creative processes.
If you search online for top quality, yet low cost (alternative to traditional) printing services, you'll find PS Print Printing -- a leading printing company that does business cards, stickers, custom postcards, greeting cards, posters and more. It's quite simple to set up a customized greeting/postcard at this site. It's as easy as selecting your product of choice, reviewing your order, uploading your files, previewing and approving the final study.

I've been recommending it to friends who plan on having wedding announcements, Christmas cards, and other event invites printed out (note that this is a great, cost-effective marketing solution as well) because this printing service's pricing, compared to most traditional printers, aren't as high, plus they have strict standards when it comes to quality control. They also boast of on-time delivery, expert mailing services and customized mailing lists, covering print, design, and mailing needs faster than your average printer. Visit the site now and find price cuts on some of their products being offered -- Post card printing is currently on sale!

That's unmatched online convenience for us hobbyists. It's an awesome way to turn holiday photos, travel shots, family and pet portraits, and nature shots to cool post cards or greeting cards.

To check out the quality of their products, order PS Print's free sample kit. It contains a variety of printed samples, a paper sample guide, and other helpful information you'll need to get started.

Expect a PS Print invite from me to Facaderato's first ever photography exhibit... coming soon! (when I have the budget, that is. heheh) ;-)
